Tour of the Undead
A Voodoo, Vampire and Ghost trilogy
Learn why the mystical reputation of New Orleans is as much of the reality of New Orleans History as Mardi Gras, Jazz and Creole foods. A cultural masterpiece of the motivations, fears and turmoil surrounding the growth of our town amidst intense class rivalries, power struggles and the Spiritual power sought to overcome. Voodoo meets Colonial Catholicism, European witchcraft, Native American Shamanism and Freemasonry to form a Syncretism of Spirituality still sizzling its Gumbo brew! Even the Spanish inquisition couldn't put out that fire-though they tried in vain!
Join an intense look at the other side of New Orleans Spirits. Learn the old ways our people called, banished and worked with the spirit world, coupled with the modern spiritual and paranormal techniques of today. Hear of the documented encounters with New Orleans Ghosts that created us to become known as America's most haunted city. See ghost pictures from America’s first “Ghost Photo Gallery” displaying Bloody Mary's paranormal photography from the sites on tours and travels; plus take your own during the tour using Bloody Mary"s Field Method of Holistic Connection. It is possible that you see, hear, feel or at times even smell a spirit nearby —we can only help you open your senses to try, for we do walk amoungst them!
A macabre marriage of true horror, fear and folklore providing a lurid alternative history mixed with much magick! The most in-depth tour around—a full French Quarter jaunt of history and mystery. Learn cruel French execution tales, unusual customs as well as Explore the true history of Vampires; Just who were the Nosferatu in New Orleans — it seems the 19th century ran rampant with them-the same time that our death toll soared to the highest mortality rate in the country! Thoughts of Vampires and Werewolves -seems the Loup Garou, our Cajun werewolf is still a talk around the town! Just Why is New Orleans still so closely connected to these creatures of the night ? Lafitte’s Blacksmith Shop
This Pirate’s Pub is the reputed oldest bar in America. Records of the construction can only reach in paper back to 1772 yet some examiners have claimed its building as far back as 1722! Was this a blacksmith shop, a private club for a Jolly Rogers gang of said bloodthirsty privateers, and or simply a place to move contraband by our rugged rogues of yesteryear? What it was and what it has become are legends to be explored. Spirits haunt this old lair and you can see a ghost horse bending for a drink of water posing for this picture. It is This company's signature ghost story rated New Orleans # 5 haunted destination in the world in “World’s Ten Creepiest Destinations” still arirng on Discovery. Hear the Full story from the Source, the parts the other companies do NOT know!
Julie, The Octoroon Mistress
A Creole Love Story starring Julie , a very sweet spirit, who lives and wanders though her old Royal street home-Does she wander alone? Physically Dead since the early 1800’s Julie walks, some say, in the buff-though I have never seen her nude But We have seen he on tours and on overnight stay in the houser. Many personal encounters with her through the years are shared as well as the most in dpeth hisotric account of what really happend within those walls.. She has shown herself very distinctly to 1/2 of my tour one cold December night, it is more common for only some to see apparitions and others not to, than for all to see, hear, feel and smell things from the other side simultaneously! This story is featured on an A&E special Bloody Mary put together and appeared in called, “More Haunted Houses” and currently runs today .!
Madame LaLaurie
Some say Madame LaLaurie walks In evil’s footsteps. The infamous Ghost House on Royal Street has all the makings of the classic ghost story, exaggerated as years go by, but true horror in the history of the house and its evil trails left behind. Many a ghostly tale recorded here since the mid 1830’s and apparitions and oddities still go on there today. Here is just one picture captured on a tour/ghost hunt at the spot where a young girl fell to her death-or perhaps pushed, some say by Madame Lalaurie herself. One death of many that fell at the hand of the Mad Madame. Come hear the tales of torture, political clout and grandiosity of this Creole aristocrat. Was she a vampire? Is this the Vampire's Lair? Was this medical experiments or Yellow Journalism0-decide for yourself as the story unfolds. Mansion owned by actor Nicholas Cage who also owns the house next door- both homes originally built and owned by Bloody Mary's GGGGG Aunt Emilee Troxclair Duffoset!
Le Vampire
This 1897 portrait of "The Vampire" by Phil-Burne-Jones caused more of a scandal than the Novel "Dracula" by Brahm Stoker of the same year. Both these renditions of the archetype Vampire were in opposition to the folklore vampire that plagued 18th and 19th century Europe as well as here in New Orleans— but all of them were well known to the citizens of those times. The evolution of the modern stereotypical vampire grew out of the fears and yearnings of the dark days of plagues and the confusions constantly lurking in the human heart and soul. The Vampire is always changeling and has her history here as it did in all of the cultures who came to call this port town home- Even the Roman Catholic Church had her say on the subject . So we cover a vast array of Vampire talk -we dabble in folk belief and fear, religous interjection and the great archetype now forever known as the Vampire ...
